Minimum Marks Required to get Admission in BITSAT
Birla Institute of Science and Technology is one of the most prestigious colleges in India and it is the dream of many students to do their degree courses through BITS. But, for getting admission into this prestigious institute the candidates will have to score good marks at the BITSAT exam.
BITSAT is the entrance examination conducted by BITS for admitting students to various courses offered. But, for getting permission to attend the BITSAT exam itself, there are certain eligibility criteria. Only candidates who meet this eligibility criterion will be permitted to take up the exam.
Apart from certain basic requirements like age, year of completion of higher secondary education, etc… the candidates should also have secured certain percentage of marks in their higher secondary education. The minimum marks required for getting admission to BITSAT exam is given below:
- The candidate should have secured an aggregate of 80% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics or the candidate should have scored a minimum mark of 60% each in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
- In this context of minimum marks, it should be remembered that only the marks of second year of higher secondary education (i.e.) +2 or second year of intermediate college will be taken into consideration and the first year marks or +1 marks will not be taken into account.
- In calculating the minimum marks the laboratory exam mark should also be added up to the marks obtained by the candidate in the theoretical examination of physics and chemistry.
The candidates who have the motive of doing their degree course in BITS should keep the minimum marks required for qualifying to the BITSAT and they should prepare for the higher secondary examination accordingly. But, it is better to aim for higher marks rather than minimum marks required since only if they aim higher, they will be able to achieve their goal.
